Message Triggers Cheatsheet

Messages have different triggers with different settings.

Flow Message Triggers

Click on the Flows page on the top navigation menu.

Once on the Flows page, click on the Messages tab on the left, then click on Trigger drop-down field.

By Event Date

Event Date trigger uses the difference from event date, the unit of difference, and the operation (before or after).

Hours Unit calculates the set hours difference from Event time to send reminder.

Message is scheduled 2 Hours Before Event Time.

Days Unit calculates the set days difference from Event Date to send reminder.

Message is scheduled 2 Days Before Event Date.

Weeks Unit calculates the set weeks difference from Event Date to send reminder.

Message is scheduled 1 Weeks Before Event Date.

By Event Status

Event Status trigger uses the client's event status value to trigger a message.

A message is triggered when the value of the event status is equal to the When event_status is field input.

Message is triggered when Event Status is equal to rescheduled.

By Event Appearance

Event Appearance trigger uses the client's event appearance value to trigger a message.

A message is triggered when the value of the event appearance is equal to the When event_appearance is field input.

Message is triggered when Event Appearance is equal to FTA.

By Case Status

Case Status trigger uses the client's case status value to trigger a message.

A message is triggered when the value of the case status is equal to the When case_status is field input.

Message is triggered when Case Status is equal to updated.

When Event is Created

A message is triggered when any new event is created.

Message is triggered when event is created.

When Event is Updated

A message is triggered when an existing event is updated.

Message is triggered when event is updated.

Recurring based on Event Date

A message is triggered on a recurring basis

Recurring trigger takes a frequency and a unit to schedule messages.

Message is triggered every day until Event Date.

Auto Messages Triggers

Go to the Settings page (step1) and click on the Auto Messages tab on the left.(step2).

Once on the Auto Messages tab, click on the Trigger drop-down field.

Manual Only

Manual Only messages are triggered manually at the client level.

Manually trigger the Auto Message from the client's page.

When a new client is created

When a new client is created message is triggered automatically when a new client with valid and notifiable contacts is created.

When a new event is created

When a new event is created message is triggered automatically when a new client event is created.

When a new case is created

When a new case is created message is triggered automatically when a new client case is created.

When a field value is equal to

When a field value is equal to message requires 2 parameters.

When Field is a drop-down list of client and event fields.
Is Equal To input is used to compare to the When Field value.

As an example, we chose Event Date field.
