Switching agencies in eCourtDate allows you to move between different tenants to manage clients, contacts, and settings for separate jurisdictions or departments without logging out.
Overview
- Each agency in eCourtDate is its own separate space with its own data, settings, and users
- When you log in to an agency, you only see the information for that specific agency
- If you need access to more than one agency, you must be added to each agency individually
- Your role and permissions can differ between agencies, so you may have different levels of access depending on which agency you are currently using
- You can switch agencies from the application or from the Console
- A keyboard shortcut is available for quick switching
Prerequisites
- You must have an active eCourtDate account
- You must be assigned to multiple agencies to switch between them
- You must be signed into the correct environment (staging or production) for the agency you want to access
How-To Steps
Step 1: Switch Agencies from the Application
- Click the court icon in the top right corner of the screen
- A dropdown will appear showing your available agencies
- Click the agency you want to switch to

- After switching, you will be automatically redirected to the same page you were on before (in the context of the new agency)

Step 2: Search for an Agency (25+ Agencies)
- If you have more than 25 agencies assigned to your account, a search bar will appear in the agency dropdown
- Enter the agency name in the search field to filter the list

What to Expect
After switching agencies, you will be redirected to the same page you were on before, but in the context of the new agency. You can only be signed into one agency at a time within the same region.

Best Practices
- Refresh or close any open tabs from the previous agency after switching to avoid viewing stale data
- Use the keyboard shortcut (Command + K on Mac, Control + K on Windows/Linux) for faster agency switching
- Verify you are in the correct region before searching for an agency. Staging agencies are only visible at staging.ecourtdate.com, and production agencies are only visible at app.ecourtdate.com
- Check the agency name in the top right corner after switching to confirm you are in the correct agency
- If you frequently switch between the same agencies, bookmark the relevant pages to save time
