Resetting your password is a two-step process. First, you need to request a password reset link. Then, you need to use the link to update your password.
Overview
Users are able to reset their password by clicking the "Forgot Password" link on the login page.
Other users cannot reset your password. If you need to reset your password, please follow the steps below.
Prerequisites
Password Reset requires an active user account on eCourtDate. Ask your organization's admin user to add you if you don't have one. If you don't get an email after clicking the "Forgot Password" link, please contact your organization's admin user.
SSO Users
SSO users are not able to reset their password. If you are an SSO user and need to reset your password, please contact your agency's admin user or help desk. Ensure you have the correct login link for your agency.
You are an SSO user if you normally see a login page with your agency's logo and login form.
How to Reset Your Password
Step 1) Click the "Forgot Password" on the login page.
Step 2) Enter your email address, then click Continue.
Step 3) Check your email inbox for further instructions.
Step 4) Check your email inbox and follow the link to update your password. Once you open the link, enter your new password and click the Reset password button.
What to Expect
After saving, you should expect a confirmation message indicating that your password has been reset.

Question: Why is my chosen password not accepted?
Answer: To comply with CJIS security standards, we enforce a strict password complexity policy:
- No more than 2 identical characters in a row
- Special characters (!@#$%^&*)
- Lower case (a-z), upper case (A-Z) and numbers (0-9)
- Minimum 16 characters
- Non-empty password
- Password history check
- Password dictionary check
- Personal data disallowed
My Password No Longer Works
If you're having trouble with your password, please try the following:
- Check that you're using the correct password
- Try resetting your password. Passwords expire every 90 days.
