Verify an email domain to send authenticated outbound emails.
Create a New Email Domain
1) Login to the Console
2) Click on Domains
3) Click Add Email Domain
4) Fill in the form and click Add.
You'll be redirected to the newly created domain.
How to Verify a Domain
In your DNS zones, add the TXT verification record provided.
The TXT record name should be: _amazonses.yourdomain.gov
Copy the TXT record value from the Email Verification section.
The verification status will show PENDING until verified.
Once verified, the status will show SUCCESS.
DNS changes may take 24 hours to complete.
Agency Settings
Configure the Default Agency and Enabled Agencies settings to start using your domain.
Any Enabled Agencies can use an email address based on the domain (any@yourdomain.gov).
How to Configure Domain Monitoring
Configure the Monitoring Reports setting to receive automated health reports about your domain.
Automated Email Domain checks include:
- SPF Check - daily
- DKIM Check - weekly
- DMARC Check - weekly
- Security Check - weekly
- Reputation Check - weekly
How to Configure DMARC Monitoring
Automatically collect reports from ISPs about your domain's DMARC compliance. In your DNS zones, add a TXT record:
Host: _dmarc.yourdomain.gov
Copy the TXT record value from the DMARC Monitoring section.
The weekly monitoring report will include DMARC Compliance metrics based on each reported source.
