Although you may think one SMS is one message, it actually gets a little more complicated than that.

You see, when an SMS is too long, the carrier breaks up the message into what's called segments.

And that's where most SMS companies trick their customers. Sure, they'll promote generous SMS credits in their plans, but what they don't tell you is that each SMS is limited to ONE segment.

eCourtDate assumes that our customers have plenty of information they want to tell their clients. That's why we consider TWO segments as a single billable SMS credit.

Each segment can handle up to 160 characters, giving you messages up to 320 characters.

Note: 320 characters is an average estimate. Some carriers may encode characters differently. In addition, special characters may incur higher character counts. When crafting your flows, please consider dynamically inserted information such as the client portal link or location address.
